É como se você (Outlook) fosse até o correio (servidor) e fizesse o download (pegasse) as cartas (emails) que estavam destinadas para você.
Quando seu amigo te envia um email pode-se dizer que ele esta fazendo um UPLoad pois o email esta subindo (indo) para o servidor (provedor). Quando você requisita os arquivos (emails) que estão no provedor pode-se dizer que você está fazendo um download ou seja você está baixando os emails que estão no servidor e os está transferindo para o seu computador.
O que é o Outlook ?
É um programa utilizado para enviar e receber emails. Ele funciona como um carteiro que leva e traz correspondências e arquivos anexos (SEDEX) para você.
O que é um Provedor ?
